Michael Carpenter and Kate Scott opened Spiral Gallery in 2004 as a showcase for Michael’s jewellery. Over the years it has developed into a true family business by stocking cards by Kate, paintings by their son Alfie, jewellery by daughter Hannah and more recently, turned wood bowls by Gus Carpenter.

Right from the start, the Gallery has showcased other artists and makers from jewellery to ceramics, glass and textiles. The emphasis has always been on small British makers rather than brands.

Attached to the Gallery is the jewellery workshop where Michael’s trade has gone from stocking other independent retailers across the country to being more self sufficient with commissions, restyles and repairs brought in through Spiral Gallery.
